Performant Financial Corporation is seeking work-at-home medical coders in the San Angelo, TX area. You must have certification as a CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P, and you must have three or more years of experience coding/auditing for an acute care inpatient facility (specifically DRG).
You must also possess extensive knowledge of CMS rules, regulations and coding clinics, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and be skilled in computer operation and data entry. Additionally, you must have excellent customer care abilities, claims processing or medical billing experience, experience utilizing ICD-9 (DRG validation), HCPCS/CPT codes, and be proficient in the use of HCFA/UB forms.
Finally, you must be a multitasker, capable of handling most situations on your own. Previous claims processing and/or medical customer care experience is a must, as is a thorough working knowledge of CPT/HCPSs/ICD-9 coding.
