Courthouse research is a home-based opportunity that many people find appealing because while you are working out of your own home office, you also get out of the house frequently enough to maintain your sanity.
It’s also flexible. You can set your own hours, to some extent.
Most of these home-based jobs are independent contractor positions, meaning you are not an employee of the company. You generally get paid per record, and then at the end of the year, you receive a 1099 and file a Schedule C.
You need to have your own laptop and reliable transportation, and you need to be able to type at least 30 to 40 words-per-minute.
