Kindred Healthcare is seeking an experienced work-at-home medical coder to join the company’s Pittsburgh team. You may be located anywhere in the continental U.S.
You must have your high school diploma. A college degree or college experience is preferred.
Required (from job listing):
- Knowledge of medical terminology; knowledge of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD9-CM) codes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure patient and/or employee rights are protected.
- Computer skills
- AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and/or Associate of Science degree with RHIT; BS with RHIA or eligibility to sit for the CCS exam.
- Coding experience or training on use of the coding manual and guidelines, medical terminology and anatomy sufficient to pass an entry-level coding screening test (test will be online).
- 3+ years of short term acute care hospital inpatient coding.
- LTACH experience a plus.
