The Hartford is hiring home-based loss control phone consultants in the United States. These are full-time positions. You must have a bachelor’s degree. Training is provided.

Loss control positions provide risk evaluation and validation services to underwriters, to help them select and price new business opportunities, as well as guide them in potential exposures and controls with regard to prospective, new, or unusual types of businesses.

Requirements (from work-at-home job listing):

• A BA/BS degree is required with coursework focused on Occupational Safety and Health Studies, Fire Sciences, Pure Sciences, Engineering or related subjects is preferred.

• Complete  Home Office basic training seminars/workshops to attain knowledge of Property, Liability and Life Safety exposures and controls, Fire Protection Systems, Machine Safeguarding exposures and controls, Ergonomic techniques that can be used in the field, familiarization with the science of Industrial Hygiene, Auto/Fleet training, Products Liability, etc.

• Complete the Risk Evaluation Workshop.
