Automattic Seeking Work at Home Community Manager

Automattic is seeking a work at home community manager in the U.S. to organize and manage its team of volunteers. You will work on contract for two months, with the potential for full-time hire after that.

Requirements (from work-at-home job listing):

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to adjust tone and word choice as needed when communicating on sensitive issues or cross-culturally.
  • Comfortable working from home, with written communication as your primary contact with co-workers and collaborators.
  • Able to mediate community disputes with patience and tact.
  • Able to travel to events as needed.
  • Able to work some weekends and to sometimes work odd hours to be available to community members in other time zones.
  • Passionate about WordPress, with a strong dedication to the freedoms that come with open source software.
  • Commitment to accessibility, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Familiar with the ins and outs of the GPL.
  • Comfortable with some ambiguity or chaos at times.

Familiarity with WordPress and/or managing a community or team is a definite plus!
