“A client is looking for a new class of Remote Medical Coders to join their team. These medical coding professionals will be 100% remote and must feel comfortable working a shift of Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM Central Time.”
Requirements (from work-at-home job listing):
– Licensed registered nurse (RN), Licensed practical nurse (LPN) or Certified Coder. CPC or CPMA preferred.
– 3+ years of medical coding experience in a professional setting.
– Multi-specialty/across multiple disciplines (ortho, cardio, family practice, emergency room, radiology etc.), not just coding for one area.
– Previous HCPCS & CPT coding experience.
– Experience reviewing medical record documentation and assigning Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes to identify medical services and procedures documented in the medical
– Experience performing CCI/NCCI edits.
– Experience working in a telecommuting environment.
– Experience working in a fast-paced, production metric managed environment meaning cases/day metric they must meet.
– Must be able to work 8-5 CST.
– Ability to pass pre-assessment with 94% or higher.
– Ability to pass a words per minute assessment.
