The Mayo Clinic is seeking a work-at-home medical coder II. The position offers the flexibility to work any hours between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. No weekends required.
Qualifications (from employment listing):
- Completion of a two or four year degree in health information management or technology and eligible for credentialing or formal education in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
- Preferably formal course in ICD-9-CM for the candidate with more than the required years of experience.
- Minimum of two years experience on-the-job training and eligible for credentialing as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H).
- Understanding of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and medical terminology.
- Attention to detail and ability to retain detail-specific information.
- Good computer skills and knowledge of computer applications.
Licenses or Certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H
