“We’re looking for Senior Hospital Coders to be responsible for the coding/abstracting of acute-care services within our One Revenue Cycle organization. Coding and abstracting areas may include inpatient accounts or ED /ED facility E&M/ED with proficiency in ambulatory surgery or observation fee accounts.”

Required Experience (from work-at-home job listing):

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Holds an AHIMA or AAPC coding credential – must be current
  • Minimum 5 years hospital-based inpatient coding experience or ED coding/ED Facility/ED Profee in addition to demonstrated competency in either observation or ambulatory surgery coding
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding and official hospital coding guidelines required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an AHIMA accredited Health Information Technology program or online coding program
  • One or more of the following: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCS-P
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and/or completion of AHIMA’s ICD-10-CM Academy
  • Strong EMR / Encoder proficiency
  • Epic experience
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and/or completion of AHIMA’s ICD-10 Academy
