Sutherland Global Services is hiring work at home radiology/outpatient coders in the United States to provide remote coding and abstracting services to its clients. These are full-time home-based positions.
Compensation for these work at home medical coding positions is $36.00 per hour.
“Individuals must have a strong working knowledge of ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding. The Consultant provides coding and abstracting support for daily production coding, facility backlogs, staffing coverage and coverage for systems upgrade transitions.”
Required (from work-at-home job listing):
- High School Degree or its equivalent required
- Associates (RHIT) or Bachelors (RHIA) Degree in Health Information strongly preferred
- Formalized outpatient coding training in lieu of HIM degree
- CCS, CPC or CPC-H required
- Minimum three year’s previous experience in hospital outpatient setting. Must have experience coding Radiology charts including Interventional and Cardiology.
- CIRCC highly preferred.
- Understand Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial provider reimbursement methodologies for hospital chart documentation
- Working knowledge of APC with ICD-9-CM coding and abstracting of patient records for the purposes of billing and research
- In-depth knowledge of the National Correct Coding Initiatives, , AHA Coding Clinic, AMA CPT Assistant guidelines, and all applicable federal, state, local, and private requirements, policies, and procedures
- Proficiency in Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial provider reimbursement methodologies for hospital chart documentation
- The ability to code all or a combination of outpatient record types: (SDS, OBS, Ancillary, ED with charging and/or leveling, injections and infusions) with an accuracy rate of 95% or greater
- Ability to adapt to new software programs
- Training in or a working knowledge of ICD-10
- Ability to work remotely and independently
- Encoder experience required
- Must have excellent computer and communication skills
