Home-Based Academic Advisor Jobs with APU

American Public University hires home-based academic advisors to work with students and collaborate with colleagues across the university to provide information to students as they progress toward their academic goals.  You must have high-speed Internet and a quiet home office from which to work.

Requirements (from job listing):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one to two years of professional office experience required.
  • Experience working in a Student Service or Registrar’s office preferred.
  • Ability to plan and monitor for results.
  • Understanding of higher education organizations, specifically the Student Services and Academic departments.
  • Ability to think strategically for change and innovation.
  • Excellent customer service skills; strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills; able to work independently.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
