Work at Home: Social Media and Outreach Manager for EdLab Group

The EdLab Group, a private non-profit, is seeking an outreach and online communications manager (social media pro). This position has the potential to be work at home for the right person.  The organization’s projects include the National Girls Collaborative Project, the Pacific Northwest Girls Collaborative Project, various NGCP Network Projects, and the EDC’s ITEST Learning Resource Center.

Required Qualifications (from employment listing):

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, or other applicable areas of study.
  • At least 5 years of experience in communications, community outreach, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of STEM education, collaboration, and/or equity content expertise and community stakeholders.
  • Strong computer and Internet skills, including proficiency with social networking tools and contact management.
  • Graphic design, Drupal, and database experience.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented; strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with the public, and accommodate a wide range of personalities and communication styles.
  • Must have strong teamwork skills, but able to work independently to complete tasks.
  • Experience with educational institutions, community-based groups, and other relevant organizations.
  • Experience with program outreach and communications; experience with event outreach and promotion.
  • Demonstrated ability to network, build, and maintain community contacts.

As communications manager, you will increase awareness of  the organization’s projects by engaging specific audiences through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, and YouTube.

You will also be updating websites, managing blogs, and providing and gathering content.  Finally, you will be supporting and managing webinars, virtual events, and in-person meetings, as well as providing content and distributing e-newsletters.

A master’s degree in education, communications, or other applicable area of study is a plus.  This is a full-time, 40 hour-per-week position.  Hours are flexible.  The salary range is $45,000 – $60,000, depending upon experience.
