“The Appeals Specialist adjudicates claim appeals for all Group Benefits lines of coverage, including Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Group Life, and Accidental Death and Dismemberment. Communicate appeal decisions to the claimants and the claim staff.”

Requirements (from work-at-home job listing):

  • 3+ years’ experience in adjudication of complex Long Term Disability and Life Group claims. This includes understanding of contract provisions as well as governmental guidelines and ERISA regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex claim situations and make determinations that are supported by the evidence.
  • Key competencies include critical thinking, personal organization, time management, diplomacy, the ability to influence others, and strong communication skills.
  • The Appeals Specialist role is eligible for 100% remote work from home
