A Chicago-based company is seeking a freelance food, wine, and restaurant writer to work with its team.  You must have fine dining writing experience to be considered for this position, and you must be able to provide examples of your work.

Specifically, the project is providing copy for two restaurant website redesigns.  You will be provided concept documents.  The project entails about four full pages of copy, with some additional headlines and taglines throughout.

Opportunity 2:

Blood, Sweat and Cheers, the “2013 Webby Awards-honored digital publication that finds fun and active stuff to do with friends,” is seeking freelance writers! It appears this opportunity is available throughout the U.S.

You will be pitching story ideas, performing research, and providing copy.  Articles are approximately 150 words.  These articles are written in magazine style and will necessitate research, testing, and interviewing of event organizers and PR reps.

Additionally, you will be writing display copy and acting as an active participant in the BSC community by responding to comments.

Pay is competitive and based upon experience.

QUALIFICATIONS (from employment listing):

  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Ability to write for web
  • Ability to insert puns into writing and adapt to a company’s style quickly
