Yahoo! Contributor Network is seeking an experienced freelance editor in the Denver, CO area to review content on a wide range of topics and prep it for publication on Voices.Yahoo.com or partner websites.
You must be detail-oriented and have a solid understanding of what makes content successful on the Web. Hours are approximately 25 to a max of 40 per week.
You will work remotely and must have a reliable high-speed Internet connection. Some on-site training in the Denver office will be required. Specific duties include combing content for style, accuracy, clarity, and tone, and creating search-friendly headlines.
You must have strong written, spelling, and grammar abilities, and ideally publishing experience on the Web. You must also have a working knowledge of The AP Press Stylebook and be willing to learn The Yahoo! Style Guide.
Finally, you must be able to take direction and perform independently. A bachelor’s degree in English or journalism is required.
