Work from Home: Freelance Editor Job with SmartBrief!

SmartBrief is seeking a freelance editor to assist in the creation of daily online and email business and consumer news publications in the areas of finance, construction, transportation, healthcare, and more. This position is available anywhere in the U.S.

You must be available between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. EST.

Requirements (from work-at-home job listing):

  • Must have at least two to five years of experience writing or editing in a news environment
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-intensive work environment
  • Proven writing and editing skills. Alternative: Three to five years of experience in a communications or research role with a news organization, consulting firm, trade association, or other relevant group
  • Ability to write and edit quickly and accurately on deadline
  • Facility for using online publishing tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills

Job Duties (from listing):

  • Edit summaries for inclusion in SmartBrief’s newsletters for grammar, style, and tone for a particular audience.
  • Use online publishing tools to create e-mail newsletters and other content.
  • Manage relationships with associations, corporations, and other business clients, as well as content providers.

You will be asked to complete a time writing and editing test prior to being hired for this freelance position.
