Cambridge Transcriptions and Boston Court Reporters are seeking work at home proofreaders for transcripts of court proceedings. These are independent contractor positions.
Proofreading work is available immediately for qualified applicants.

“We seek experienced proofreaders for both pre-trial and trial proceedings. Pre-trial proceedings are depositions and arbitrations, 911 calls, radio transmissions, police interviews, and motion hearings. Trial proceedings are bench and jury trials.
“We seek legal proofreaders with a strong grasp of English grammar and punctuation, particularly as it applies to legal transcription. Proofreading experience with pretrial and trial transcripts is a requirement.”
Qualifications (from work-at-home job listing):
- Previous experience with the proofreading of legal proceedings (legal transcriptionist, stenographer, scopist, or voicewriter).
- Thorough understanding of our transcript formats and style guidelines.
- Proficiency with the MS Word Review feature (“Track Changes”).
- Capable of proofreading 500 to 2000 pages per week.
- Reliable, prompt delivery.
- Responsive, efficient, good communication
Also Desirable (from listing):
- Perfectionist with language.
- Good with formatting in Word.
- Like to research proper nouns in legal proceedings.
Compensation for these home-based positions is $15 to $25 per hour.
