Healthline Networks is currently seeking home-based freelance writers, journalists, and fact-checkers in the United States! According to the employment listing, the company “publishes health information and news… and also provides content and services to companies like Yahoo! Health, GE, Microsoft, and Demand Media.”

Pay is per-article and varies depending on assignment.

Requirements (from work-at-home job listing):

For General Health  Content Freelancers:

•         Excellent written communication skills and impeccable grammar

•         Strong understanding of APA citations

•         Knowledge of major publishing styles (AP, Chicago)

•         Ability to meet deadlines

•         Strong research skills and knowledge of appropriate health research sources

•         A background in health or science writing is strongly preferred

•         Degree in a relevant field (such as English or Journalism) is preferred

For Health News Freelance Journalists:

All of the above requirements plus:

•         A background in news writing

•         A portfolio of published general-interest news pieces (online)

•         Strong interview skills

•         Comfort with fast-turnaround assignments

For Fact-Checkers:

•         Experience fact-checking for a major print or online publication

•         Ability to meet deadlines

•         A background in research

Writers will be expected to provide samples of their work.
