S&P Capital IQ is seeking work-at-home proofreaders to proofread earnings calls. Compensation averages $20 per hour. You will be responsible for correcting any errors remaining after editing. You may also be required to do some Internet research to validate information. Prior experience doing transcription or captioning work is particularly applicable.
The company specifically needs proofers who can work from approximately 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. EST, weekdays, and has a particular need for proofers in the PST time zone who are willing to work 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. EST to complete the late afternoon calls.
The work is cyclical and corresponds with the four earnings seasons: Jan, April, Jul, Oct. Each earning season is 4-6 weeks. After earnings season is over, there will be some ongoing work, but at much, much lower volumes. The company is specifically interested in forming long-term relationships with proofreaders who return season after season.
Skills and Qualifications (from job listing):
- Touch typing 60 WPM+. Good “ear” to understand audio and accented speech.
- Strong English grammar skills.
- Good vocabulary, particularly across a broad range of industries and a familiarity with financial-related terminology.
- Quick to pick up new software. Detail oriented. Reliable.
- Familiarity with the Total Eclipse editing software is a plus.
